Celebrating 5K Subscribers on My YouTube Channel

Today I am celebrating 5,000 subscribers. I hit that milestone, I believe it was July 10th. Today is July 19th, so I wanted to do something a little bit unique to celebrate. Today I am going to answer some getting-to-know-you questions.

What is your name?

My name is Sonia Teach, as I say in my videos, that is my real name. My married last name is Teach, and it just kinda worked out, because I am a teacher.

Where are you from?

I am from the Chicago suburbs.

How tall are you?

These are really detailed questions. So I'm not gonna answer all of them. (Side note: I’m tall!)

How many siblings do you have?

I have one older brother.

What are your hobbies?

Honestly, working on my business is a big hobby. I love helping teachers to get their businesses started and follow their own career goals and passions. Other hobbies that I have, I like to do meditation. I like to go for walks outside. I like to spend time with my family. I like to read and just like hang out and, you know, chill at home, basically. I'm very much a homebody.

Is this your first channel?

Yes, this is my first channel, I started this channel in February 2018. It's been about two and a half years, and I started it when I was online tutoring, and I was going to use it as a way to help market my tutoring business. And then after I had my son last year, I stopped tutoring and I started helping teachers that wanted to start their business. Which basically answers the next question, which is, what is your channel about, and who is your target audience?

Why would anyone subscribe to your channel?

You would subscribe to my channel if you are a teacher of like a brick and mortar school, you're either a current teacher or a former teacher that's wanting to make money from home by starting an online tutoring business.

Where do you see yourself and your channel in five years?

Five years from now, I'm not really sure. I don't know if I'll still be doing YouTube. I definitely wanna do it for the next year, at least. But what I see myself doing is continuing to coach people that are running their businesses that want to earn more money in their business and start making more money through multiple streams of income.

What inspired you to make videos?

What inspired me to make videos is just knowing that I love being on camera and that I knew that I could impact people on a bigger scale by utilizing YouTube, and bring more traction into my business and find more clients.

Who are some of your favorite YouTubers?

Some of my favorite YouTubers, that's a really good question. I like Cathrin Manning from TheContentBug! I think she basically changed her name. I really like Nakisha Wynn, who is a YouTuber and a blogger. Those are probably my favorite two people to watch for like business purposes. I really like Lilly Singh's content, as just like for personal, just to watch for fun.

How much time do you spend on YouTube every day? I probably spend more time on YouTube now because it's part of my job too. So I spend a little bit more time on it. I'm not really sure how much, I don't even want to check.

What does your username mean? My username is just my name.

What’s the best thing about YouTube?

The best thing about YouTube is that I'm able to connect with people all over the world. I love that it's been a source of clients for me, customers, people come into my business and get to know me. And when they find me, they're just like so appreciative and thankful that they are, they found someone that can help them start their business. So that's really my favorite part of the channel. I lost track.

What’s the worst thing about YouTube?

The worst thing about YouTube, maybe just like comparison, feeling like I wanna achieve more, and seeing what other people are doing and wanting to get even bigger and better in my channel. So that feeling of like always wanting to do more is definitely probably the biggest challenge when it comes to YouTube or the worst thing about YouTube. But that's really more about my mindset than anything else.

What camera do you use to record your videos?

Right now, I'm just recording on my phone. I have a pretty nice phone, so it works really well for recording. Otherwise, I use my web Logitech webcam. You can find all the tools I use here

What software do you use for video editing?

 I use Filmora

Have you met anyone from YouTube in real life? I have met another tutor coach, Joanne Kaminski. I've met her in real life, she was in my area.

How often will you upload videos for your viewers? I am working on uploading every week. I'm thinking of trying to aim for Sundays, but I'm not really sure because I still wanna have a weekend. So my aim is once a week.

Do your family and friends support you in making videos? Absolutely!

Any advice for new YouTubers? I would say just start, just get started. You know, there are so many reasons that you can postpone it or procrastinate, and you can get stuck in this cycle of just consuming, learning, researching, and never feeling like you're ready. The best thing you can do is just begin, just start and just get going.

So those are the questions that I answered. These were new YouTuber tag questions. I'm not really new to YouTube, but I have been more consistent about it probably in the last nine months or so. So, I still feel like I'm relatively new. If you wanna find these questions, they're from the tagquestions.net. They're the 25 interesting new YouTuber tag questions.
